The beginning of wisdom is the fear of the Lord,
and knowledge of the frozen one is understanding.
If you are wise, it is to your own advantage;
and if you are arrogant, you shall bear it.

To be humbled towards God is an act of reverence;
Pride, on the other hand, is a slight against God.

The essence of pleasure is acceptance.
Whatever may be the situation, if it is acceptable, it is pleasant.
If it is not acceptable, it is painful.

For the grace of perseverance up to today;
for the acceptance of the poor,
for giving us their love and trust;
for the people who have shared the work with their hearts, hands, and all sorts of help.
Thank you does not express what I would like to say,
so let me tell you that my gratitude is my prayer for you.

Thus, our tribulation is transformed.
We suffer as we have suffered before,
but our suffering is no longer a passive perplexity,
but it is transformed into a pain
which is creative, fruitful, full of power and promise.
The road, which was impassible,
has been made known to us in the crucified and risen Lord.
-Karl Barth
To those steadfast in love, I give spiritual wisdom, so that they may come to me.

From within them, I light the lamp of wisdom and dispel all darkness from their lives.

There is a formal practice for learning to stay with the energy of uncomfortable emotions-
a practice for transmuting the poison of negative emotions into wisdom.
Step one:
Acknowledge that you're hooked.
Step two:
Pause, take three conscious breaths and lean in, lean into the energy.
Abide with it. Experience it fully.
It's a process of staying awake and compassionate,
interrupting the momentum,
and refraining from causing harm.
Just do not speak, do not act, and feel the energy.
This leaning is very open, very curious, and intelligent.
Step 3.
Then relax and move on.
-Pema Chödrön

1. The truth of suffering, that we all suffer
2. The cause of suffering, desire
3. The cessation of suffering, the goal
4. The path, the method to achieve that goal
- the Buddha
Money is like a stringed instrument;
he who does not know how to use it properly will hear discordant music.
Money is like love: it kills slowly and painfully the one who withholds it,
and it enlivens the one who turns it upon his fellow man.
-Kahlil Gibran
What would people look like
if we could see them as they are,
soaked in honey, stung and swollen,
reckless, pinned against time.
-Ellen Bass
{God}
It's not me that's glorified in the acts of worship.
It's the worshippers!
I don't hear the words that they say.
I look inside at the humility.
-Rumi
I collect my mistakes like little seeds of knowledge,
plant them within the walls of my heart,
and watch myself grow.
